meet the artist

Alex Lees
Ink/Paint/Metal/Clay
I’ve been an artist my entire life. I was a soldier for a time.
I enjoy science and history.

Acrylics/Oil Pastels/Colored Pencils
Hi, I’m Jessica! I’m an abstract artist currently working out of the basement of my childhood home. Abstract art has been a huge blessing to me. It helps me practice letting go, gives me license to be messy, and keeps me constantly looking around for beautiful things to be inspired by. As a maximalist at heart, I love layering and playing with lots of textures and colors. I’m not as much about technical details as I am about intuition. It feels like my pieces paint themselves and I’m just along for the journey!

Elias Lemus
Digital/Oils
I’m an artist/illustrator working mostly digitally as of late. My favorite subject matter is anything fantastical or fable-esque. Humor is fun, but just simply good storytelling coupled with expertly executed imagery is my jam.

Heather Douskey
Ink/Sharpie/Scratchart
Born and raised in Papillion Nebraska I found my passion in my art and helping others through my coaching. I’ve had a emotionally rough journey in life. I’ve found that art saved me. Doodling helped me heal wounds.

Todd Youngblood
Acrylics/Colored Pencils/Photographer
I am 53 years old and just got into art a little more than 4 years ago after a difficult year of losing my mother and going through divorce.
I found that when I would just sit there and sketch or paint I could begin to be myself and learn how to get through such a difficult time in my life. It really is therapeutic for me and I do enjoy creating the art that I do.
Normally I do work full time for a local non -profit as a medical equipment technician which keeps me extremely busy, and I do love the traveling I get to do.
I paint with acrylic on canvas, colored pencils on canvas and card stock, and practice my photography.

Pieter Vargo
Charcoal/Oil/Acrylic
My name is Pieter Vargo, I am a full-time artist from Omaha NE, with a background knowledge of fine arts and psychology. My main focus in medium is oil paint and acrylic paints. My goal as an artist is to use my knowledge of psychology and my artist abilities in order to express, human thoughts, emotions, and experiences through the act of painting. By doing so I hope to showcase the experiences of the day to day person that not many people get to see. This could be in the form of a battle with faith, mental disorder, family issues, and countless other “invisible” experiences. In doing so my hope is it will showcases the ideas that no one is truly alone, and that in the end, what we go through, makes us who we are.

Kim Russell
Photographer
I am a married mother of two boys and I started photography 18 years ago. I work for the church and take as many pictures as possible. I tend to feel more comfortable behind the lens, and it lets me document my kid’s most loved activities. Since my kids are getting older it is time to refocus my lens outside the home and church.

Madelyn O’Connell
Acrylics/Watercolors
I grew up in the Nebraska countryside with three older brothers. Being surrounded by nature gave me a plethora of opportunities to observe from life and draw. The itch to create never faded, and art continues to be a crucial part of my life.
In my work, I most enjoy creating animal portraits. I attempt to create an emotion between the subject and the audience through use of color and body language that is portrayed in my pieces. While I mostly engage in the use of acrylic paint, I enjoy exploring various other mediums.

Kiliki Wiggins

From coasters to dining tables, my creations feature stunning waterfalls, beaches, or Polynesian designs. Often including treasures from travels around the world. Owning one of my waterfall scene tables will spark conversations and bring lasting joy to your home. Mahalo. Kiliki.

Tattoo Apprentice/Acrylics/Graphite
I’ve always loved creating art! My focus has been acrylic paintings of flowers and animals, and graphite portraits. I enjoy the creativity of a floral painting, while also the challenge of a portrait. I love seeing a piece of artwork come together to match my vision. My inspiration has often times come from my own home, as I love painting my cats more than anything!

Acrylics/Colored Pencils
I was born and raised in Omaha and have been doing art as long as I can remember. I love creating digital art for my YouTube channel. I also paint, draw and make jewelry in my spare time.

Acrylics
Hey, guys!
I’m a native Nebraskan, born and raised here in Omaha. I’m a husband and dog dad who enjoys spending time with my friends and family. I’ve always been an artistic person; I’m most happy when I am inspired to create and design and enjoy the healing nature creating art brings. I make unique acrylic art pieces on canvas, as well as door hangers, coaster sets and wall art. #loveislove #supportlocalartists

Tattoo Apprentice/Acrylics
I graduated from UNO in May of 2013 with a Bachelors of Science in Education with an endorsement in Fine Arts. I am currently in my 11th year of teaching Secondary Art. I push my students to try new things, learn how to fail, and to try again. I try to teach them how to express themselves and how to be good humans. I married my high school sweetheart, Joey, and together we made a rad little dude we call Hank. Our home is filled with pets, plants, and chaos…and we LOVE it!
As an artist, I don’t have one medium or style that I stick with. I dabble in a little bit of everything; however, I’ve recently been obsessed with watercolors under a colored pencil overlay. I like to try new things, new mediums, new techniques-the needle is simply a new medium for me to tackle. I’m stoked for the opportunity to expand my artistic portfolio and can’t wait to start making people wince in the best kind of pain.
